SAUNA

Sauna is part of Finnish Culture used for washing and perspiration in a building or room. There are saunas also in other countries. Before the bath was heated by the fireplace, but now it is heated by the heater. The word sauna originally meant a heated sinkhole or a foxhole. From my point of view, the sauna is a nice place to visit. The sauna can be used all year round and in the winter it is especially nice.

The heater has rocks, which store the heat. The steam generates when the water is thrown onto hot stones, and it becomes hot steam, which spreads up in the steam room. There are many types of saunas: smoke sauna, earth sauna, sauna tank.

Before saunas were wood-heated, but now they are electrically heated. If there is a sauna and it is winter you can go winter swimming. In summer it is  nice to have a   cool jump into a  lake after the sauna

The smoke sauna

A traditional Finnish sauna type (Karelia "black room"), which is heated only once, that is heating does not continue during bathing. A smoke sauna is one of the earliest forms of the sauna. In fact, I do not remember having ever had one. A smoke sauna is valued as a traditional form of taking a sauna bath because of its soft atmosphere.

a Finnish smoke sauna

A smoke sauna is a sauna, a traditional wood-burning type, with no chimney, but the flue gases are directly distributed to the sauna.
