Vaala Church | | | Vaala Church was designed by Dag Englund. It was built with limestone bricks, originally to be used as a parish hall in 1960-61, and it was renovated and extended in 1987. Location at the map. |  | Säräisniemi Church | | | Säräisniemi Church is a beautiful cruciform church with a hipped roof bevelled on its salient corners (Jaakko Suonperä 1769-81). The church was renovated into its present shape in 1898. The bell tower dates back to 1793. Location at the map. |  | Manamansalo Memorial Church | | | Manamansalo Memorial Church was built in 1959 in honour of the 400th anniversary of the Oulujärvi congregation. It was built at the exact location of the 16th century church burnt in 1581, at the time of the feudal wars. The church bell was plundered in the process, and only found more than 400 years later, in 1990, at the Solovetsk monastery on the shore of the White Sea. Location at the map. |
